    job switches

Coming back from Europe was definitely not on my top 10 favorite things to. I just adore it over there—there are things I definitely miss about the USA while I am away, but mostly I just like it over there. The history…the art…the architecture…*le sigh*… But coming home to see Josh again was definitely up there on my excitement list. I had been away from him for 14 days! That is a long time to go without seeing your significant other…especially when you see them basically everyday.

I also wasn’t exactly thrilled to be coming home because I had quit my job and knew that I had to really start on the job hunt and that all just sounded so blah to me. I am one of those people who needs to be doing something with my time and I just didn’t like thinking about the fact that I would come home—apply to jobs for like an hour everyday—and then wait until Josh got off work so we could play. Didn’t sound like it was going to be super thrilling. Luckily, my mom kept me busy and I really didn’t go too long without finding a new job!

I interviewed with this engineering firm and it seemed like it was going to be this really awesome job where I would be filling out spreadsheets and deciphering the architects handwriting for documents and such but it turned out to be MISERABLE. I didn’t like it at all. The people there were very condescending and that just wasn’t the kind of environment I wanted to be in. Around the same time that I had just started at this job another company—Signet Mortgage—was looking for a loan processor. I applied thinking, ‘why not’ and I got the job! So now I was in a pickle because I literally had just started working at this engineering firm three days earlier. I asked Signet Mortgage when they wanted me to start and the told me as soon as I could so I just left the engineering job and started the next day at the mortgage company. So crazy!

So now I am working as a loan processor at a mortgage company! So odd. Never thought I would find myself working a job with NORMAL hours and WEEKENDS and HOLIDAYS…it is so lovely. I also have more flexibility with my hours here—if I want to come in at 7am and leave at 3pm I can do that! Its amazing. I have never had a job like this. I am very blessed to have it that's for sure. I do miss the Disney museum occasionally--but it's so wonderful because I can go back and visit and see all my friends and still get my Disney fix. (I'm such a dork)
